There does not have to be disconnect between our Sunday morning selves and our Monday through Saturday selves. It does take conscious effort, but it seems to get easier and easier for me. Starting each day with a biblical focus makes a huge difference for me.
I agree! Sometimes I over think things, but I feel like staying true can be particularly difficult in our culture where so many of our options are contrary to our beliefs. I think if we’re really honest with ourselves, we justify or just choose not to examine a lot of what we do. I am guilty of that, so maybe I’m just projecting! But, as a simple example, what kinds of values am I condoning when I pay to see a movie that exalts concepts like revenge or excessive consumerism?
